Another excellent video by the folks at StreetFilms.org. This time the video is from Paris and features the now one-year old “Velo Liberte” or better known as “Velib.”
Ever since Paris started this experiment in bike sharing, it’s been the focus of many articles and blogs on cycling. The numbers are quite amazing: over 20,000 bicycles spread across 1,451 stations within central Paris. They say that the Velib bikes account for 30% of all bike traffic in Paris and that 10% of those bikes are people who would have taken their automobile if there was no Velib available.
