It’s sad to see the snazzy Bombardier Flexity streetcars leave our beloved city, but there is some hope that they will be back some day. The tracks between Cambie Street and Granville Island have already been updated. The Historic Trams will still run during the summers for the tourist season. And 500,000 people packed into the two streetcars during their brief two month service here.
So here’s to hoping. Perhaps the city can go on its own if it finds the right partnerships to fund the streetcar. It would be a great addition to our city.
