Olympic Village Sunshine

We’ve been fortunate to have quite a few sunny days for this winter of 2013/14.  Who in Vancouver wouldn’t want more sunshine when we mostly get dripping, grey days? Video was shot handheld with my Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Phone. Continue reading Olympic Village Sunshine

Photographing False Creek at Dusk

It’s been over two and half years since the Winter Olympics and Paralympics took their show out of town.  The legacy of the Olympic Village, now renamed the Village at False Creek is still up in the air.  However, the Village has started to have some life come to it.  A friend invited me down there to take some photos. As one of my friends told me, an regular garbage can often has to be emptied twice a day.  Imagine all those cans along Robson Street.  Maybe those … Continue reading More About Garbage

Streetcars to be loaned from Brussels to Vancouver

Paul Hillsdon Paul has written a quick little post on Vancouver borrowing a couple of Bombardier Flexity Streetcars for the Olympics as part of the city’s streetcar demonstration project.  That we don’t have such streetcars running permanently is really sort of a downer.  Check out Paul’s brief post and you can also follow details at the City of Vancouver streetcar page.  We’ll take what we … Continue reading Streetcars to be loaned from Brussels to Vancouver
